Earth Nets Module for Measurements on Concrete and Hard Surfaces

The HIOKI L9846 Earth Nets Module is an accessory for earth resistance measurements on hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, and other locations where auxiliary earth spikes cannot be inserted directly. The foldable module features a magnetic latch and two copper mesh contact areas measuring 18 × 22 cm each. During use, the module is opened and placed on the measurement surface. Moistening the copper mesh with water establishes the electrical contact required for earth resistance measurements.
The module is connected to the measurement setup using a crocodile clip and is designed for direct integration with compatible HIOKI test lead reels. The L9846 can be mounted on the L9845-52, L9845-33, L9845-31, L9842-22, and L9842-11 test lead reels, forming a single combined unit for convenient transport and operation.
On the side facing the test lead reel, the module incorporates a funnel for adding water, while corresponding outlet slots on the opposite side help distribute moisture across the contact surfaces. This design supports reliable electrical coupling to hard surfaces without the need for auxiliary earth spikes.
Compared with the more compact 9050 Earth Nets, the L9846 offers greater robustness and easier handling in the field. For transport and storage, the C0209 Tote Bag accommodates test lead reels with mounted Earth Nets Modules.
Two L9846 Earth Nets Modules, together with the C0209 Tote Bag, are supplied as standard accessories with the FT6041 and FT6041-91 Earth Testers.
The L9846 is designed for use with HIOKI Earth Testers such as the FT6041 and FT6041-91. Use with other earth testers or installation testers that operate with earth spikes is outside the intended system configuration, and HIOKI does not provide functional guarantees for such applications.
