Product Description
The versatile and modular HIOKI LR8101 Data Logger is designed for system integration applications requiring high channel counts and recording intervals as short as 5 ms. Compatible with a variety of measurement modules, it can be configured to precisely match application requirements for voltage, temperature, current, and power logging.
The LR8101 can be installed in a standard 19-inch rack using the optional rack-mount kit, making it suitable for automated test systems, production environments, and long-term monitoring installations.
The logger can be controlled using the free GENNECT Space, GENNECT One, and Logger Utility software packages. Integrated alarm outputs, trigger inputs/outputs, and pulse/logic inputs simplify system integration and automation. Enhanced noise immunity supports stable and reliable measurements even in electrically demanding environments.
All supported modules can be combined within a single system configuration, with the primary application areas being voltage/temperature logging and power logging.
Voltage and Temperature Logging with the LR8101
The LR8101 can be combined with up to ten M7100 or M7102 Voltage/Temperature Modules. This modular architecture allows users to configure the exact number and type of channels required for a specific application.
When used with the M7100 module, the system supports up to 150 channels with an update interval of 5 ms. With 1500 VDC CAT II isolation to earth, the M7100 enables safe voltage and temperature measurements on high-voltage battery systems, including 800 V and 1200 V battery packs.
When used with the M7102 module, the system supports up to 300 channels with a 10 ms update interval. With 600 VDC CAT II isolation, the M7102 is ideally suited for data logging on 400 V battery systems.
Both module types support voltage measurement and thermocouple-based temperature measurement.
Power Logging with the LR8101
By adding the M1100 AC Power Supply Module, up to four M7103 Power Measurement Modules can be connected to the LR8101, providing up to 12 channels for high-accuracy, long-term power logging.
The M7103 can also be used for voltage and current measurements. Its voltage inputs support direct measurement of up to 2000 VDC and 1000 VAC.
For current logging, the LR8101 supports a wide range of HIOKI current sensors equipped with an ME15W connector. These sensors are powered directly by the logger and do not require an external power supply, simplifying installation and reducing system complexity.
Power Supply Options
The LR8101 main unit does not include an integrated power supply. The required power source depends on the selected module configuration.
For systems using M7100 and/or M7102 Voltage/Temperature Modules, power can be supplied using either the Z1016 AC Adapter or the L1012 DC Power Cable.
For configurations that include one or more M7103 Power Measurement Modules, the M1100 AC Power Supply Module is required. This requirement also applies to mixed systems combining M7103 modules with M7100 and/or M7102 modules.
