The TA487 is an interface device that enables the use of standard IEPE (Integrated Electronic Piezoelectric) sensors with any oscilloscope or data acquisition system that has BNC inputs. It draws power from a USB port via the cable and supplies a 4 mA constant current to operate the connected IEPE sensor.

Pico Technology also offers the TA095 IEPE accelerometer, and users can connect other compatible IEPE devices—such as microphones, pressure sensors, or strain gauges—from various manufacturers, provided they have a male BNC connector. The TA095 can be used with any suitable device that provides a constant-current IEPE power source, such as the TA487 IEPE Signal Conditioner.
