The coupling network is multifunctional, i.e. it can be easily switched between the test settings for M2, M3, M4 and M5 conductor systems for AC and DC tests using a rotary switch and a button. For the purpose of automated testing, the coupling network can also be switched between AC and DC mode via USB. It is available in two versions:

• CN 1241-32: 32 A with 4 mm MC sockets
• CN 1241-125: 125 A with 6 mm MC sockets

The test levels defined in IEC / EN 61000-4-16 apply to test voltages with DC voltage (positive & negative) and with frequencies of 16 2/3 Hz, 50 Hz and 60 Hz, as well as for AC disturbances from 15 Hz to 150 kHz. For the short-time test, the usual duration for the application of each individual test disturbance variable is 1 s. The switchable coupling network CN 1241 was developed as an additional device to the PGA 124x and MGA 1033 disturbance generators for continuous disturbance quantities in order to couple test voltages of up to 300 V to EUTs as required and with as little effort as possible. In this case, it is operated via the PGA 124x and MGA 1033 application software. However, the CN 1241 coupling network can also be operated via the front panel without additional devices.
